MMA Strategy - Work the Fighter, Control the Fight

A great MMA strategy is to control the fight. You win by controlling the fight, every point you get is based on control. There are many levels of control. Control your opponent, his mind, along with your mind, and your body. Master these and you'll be one tough guy to beat.
Controlling your adversary's not really tough if you're aggressive, but it's actually easier if you let him come at you. That's right, great counters are show stoppers. You should always work toward using his momentum against him. Your
punches will land harder, throws will be more effective, and by
default you end up using less energy. Pretty sneaky, right? It's all about physics, proper body alignment, and desire for greatness.
True mastery of MMA strategy is being able to pick him apart. Set him up and it's easy to see what he's going to do before ever it happens. Always think 10 moves ahead of him. It's like you can see the future and you tell him where to go, where he can move. Punches, kicks and any technique you use should be aimed at achieving this.
Some guy's MMA strategy is to get inside your head, to scare you. He'll taunt you, make fun of you. Don't let him get to you. Be strong and look him straight in the eyes. You can't fight what you can't face. The eye's are like windows into a mans soul and you'll be able to see everything he plans on doing.
Don't let him win the mental game. You have to disconnect from you emotions. Especially during the fight, emotions will get in the way and you'll lose. Every time you step out there to fight you always have something to prove. To everyone who thinks you'll lose. They're wrong, you will prevail. Remember that.
Another form of control is for your own body, you can control which muscles to develop. The fast twitch muscles are most important for explosive power and endurance. What to do when defending yourself, lots of sparring to do this. Developing your mind by learning as much as possible and have a circle of good friends and family to help.
This comes through lots of training and taking a few punches. Do so will open up your mind and relax your body, you'll be a better fighter and better person. Try a grappling art like Jiu Jitsu or combat wrestling to learn about control and develop a winning MMA strategy.
